DIARY DATE AS OF 10/10/09

Veteran Vs. Non

In my last writing, I wrote that I wasn't  happy with a non veteran medical Doctor, new on the scene.  I was pretty upset with the manner in which my pump refill was managed by a new Doctor  and basically felt a Veteran Doctor was better for me.  Over the weekend I was attending a cancer awareness event in which two young Doctor's received awards for their contribution and research to cancer.  I had the opportunity to meet them first hand and noticed that the advice they had given the audience when receiving their awards was meaningful and encouraging.  I also realized that the two Doctors were  vibrant, ready to learn, as  well  as  take on the battle of finding a cure for cancer.  Basically they knew their stuff.  They told the eager listeners attending the event to shop around for Doctor's like you shop for those new shoes etc., and gave much more advice.  In short, I must say I would have them as my Doctor any day and that A good Doctor is a good Doctor period and wll go the distance for you healthcare. 

ABOUT DAD...FROM RFL Documentary

MY FATHER passed from Leukemia Lymphoma (Lupus) after years in the military.  He never complained a day in his life and hardly took his medicine when he was diagnosed. HE was a man FULL OF LIFE and FULL OF CONSIDERATION for others.  He loved to cook and go to the market.  Despite his challenges of growing up fast and having to work at the age of 12 and watching his father pass and not get care because of racism in Louisiana during those times, he never COMPLAINED in life and loved all people.  Freedom was truly a luxury to him and since he had it, he was not going to give it up because of an illness.  He had made it through sinking ships and so much more.  But CANCER would catch up to him and there would be no battle.  A NICE CALI DAY he made his way through the typical anxious crowd in San Francisco headed to "the market" to find his usual choice of fresh veggies and fish to cook for those that did not have a meal and would enjoy the seasoned hands of a seasoned cook.  On this day the three flights of stairs he climbed everyday seemed like twenty flights, and on his way up he did not quite

THE CALL... ATL TO CAL 2004

Originally from California, it had been a while since Trisia had been home to the Bay Area or their families home in the San Joaquin Valley. California had the beauty of many places put together, therefore she thought she would never leave although she had experienced many hardships there. However life dealt her another hand as it so often does.  Atlanta is where she ended up making home although her own family was suppose to be sent to Japan through her husband's JC work for their first tour of duty in the the Air Force which is normally oversees. It was during Desert Storm time where he was in a very vital position to this mission.  As an Officer's wife, Trisia vowed to commit and support the Government and what her husband's duties are to the USA.  Nothing new, her father gave his whole life to the same.  She was a military brat sort of speak and vowed to not  do military again soon when she moves away from home. Well she found JC and that is life.  Her and JC had a detour to Atlanta  before Japan due to a medical and instead was sent to Atlanta Georgia first on what is called a TDRL (a military term for Temporary Duty Retirement List) until the evaluation was complete.  Atlanta should be great Trisia thought, she had never seen Atlanta or a progressive African American Southern City as such and felt this would be an experience to remember since it was once the home of the greatest civil rights leader of the world,  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whom she often thought about because when she was a little girl, she went to see him and Mrs. King and the Kennedy's when they were on their train trips through California traveling from coast to coast for some reason that she did not know why as a little girl.  However, she knew they were important because her mom always gathered the whole family and whisked them off to see important people at the TRAIN STATION.  THEY WOULD always have a speech and wave and looked like nice people and she would also sometimes see their picture on their black and white TV screen sometimes.

Fast forwarding, A NEW HAND is dealt after sometime in Atlanta to TRISIA when she becomes divorced from HER FRIEND AND HUSBAND....JC WHO's  like the perfect  husband that she never foresaw being without.

FACT:  Although we all love animals, we have seen on Animal Planet TV where  the Animal Pound picks up a suffering dog or animal off the street (which cost tax payers) and provide them surgery to make them feel better.  We don't just kill the animal right away.  Sometimes surgery does not work, but it's a risk we take to help the dog or poor animal.  At the very lease when we pick up strays, we might put them up for adoption and provide care for them until they are adopted.

LETS FLIP THE COIN...... Sometimes we see people on the streets (that might be homeless) just lying there or with hand made tarpaulins and we pass them by not knowing if they are dead or alive, have eaten,  are they suffering?  We just don't know nor do we care like the suffering animals.  We do not provide shelter or help for them.  As a matter of fact, most times we turn the other way.  PEOPLE, I don't need to provide the answer  this.  Use your head on this one and do the math.  When you come to a conclusion, do not change it based on your political status or any other potential factors.

CRYSTAL..A YOUNG LIFE LOST Recently an associated of RFL's sister was killed for no reason whatsoever.  She was only 24 and a Preschool Teacher in Los Angeles school district.  Crystal Crawford was just sitting in her car and was sprayed with bullets.  She and her  family will never understand why.   Although 24, Crystal as a teacher had decided to make something of her life and now it's lost due to a senseless killing.  We have to find solutions to this out of hand problem.  Are we bringing up monsters now? We, yes our society... There must be a solution to this madness.

Rushing for Life gives our deepest sympathy and blessings to the beautiful Ms. Crystal Crawford's family.  May she rest in peace!

Noted for her lustrous and beautiful hair and high profile marriage to Ryan O'Neal.  She was first married to Lee Majors and was most noted as an angel on Charlies angel and recently documented her struggle with cancer and the health care system. She was diagnosed in 2006
